Steven Baine is a retired graphic designer. Although he has created many pieces over the years, since the 2020 pandemic he has turned his focus to photorealistic portraiture. Working in oils, on scratchboard, in pencil crayon or acrylics, he explores the diverse faces of people either as a portrait or in their own spaces. He is both inspired and fascinated by the subject’s thoughts as he observes then paints them. Whether through their passion or their indifference, it’s their expressive faces that capture his enthusiasm.
Steven has created a number of works which grace the walls of collectors in Canada and the United States.
